Aortic trunk translocation

This surgical treatment for aortic aneurysms requires the use of extra-corporal circulation, deep hypothermia and stopping the patient's circulation.
At HOSPITEN, we use a technique consisting in a combined treatment: endoluminal surgery-repair, without the use of extra-corporal circulation. Once again, we are the pioneers in Spain in this technique, which is explained below. By means of the transposition of the supra-aortic trunks, through a mini-sternotomy, by means of an insert trifurcated to the three trunks, moving these to the aortic root and implanting the endoprosthesis (aortic prosthesis), through the femoral artery. This covers the aortic arch, including the original source of the trunks.
The benefits to the patient of this technique are, again, those of being treated with a combination of minimally-invasive surgery (which also avoids using extra-corporal circulation) and the placing of the endoprosthesis through a catheter in the groin. Therefore: shorter recovery and hospital-stay times, smaller scars and improved post-operative pain control.
